A rare mid to late 19th century handmade embroidered Kantha quilt probably originating from Bangladesh. Probably made to celebrate a marriage the quilt contains many symbolic and traditional motifs. Made from layers of natural pale sand coloured muslin which has been hand embroidered with Trees of Life, peacocks and birds, a european type house, and a vine like border with flowers. The quilt has been framed with a gorgeous soft red
