VIKING SHIELD RING, C.800-1000 AD, SIZE 9 ½ 08/01/2023 Exceptional preservation with the 24karatGilt bronze, size 9 9 3 4 with some slack allowed by the overlapping tip band, characteristic for Viking rings. Shield shaped bezel, bordered, with a double medial flanked by two hounds tooth symbols, perhaps stylized runes. Stepped expanded shoulders with double bar saltires incised. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
