Struck for Aelius Caesar at the Rome Mint 137 CE. Issued as Caesar during the reign of Aelius' adopted farther Emperor Hadrian. Approx. 17mm, RIC H430 (rated as Scarce), RSC 50. Aelius only issued in 137 CE as he died before he could assume the purple. His coinage is scarce to rare! Certified by NGC to Ch F. Well struck and centered with excellent portrait. Obverse: L AELIVS CAESAR, bare head right.
